Changing my life through TM

Peace is in my life again.

I go into the world and look at people like they are Susan Boyle, people with a talent or a gift that I can learn from or share.

This is so much better that wondering who is a son of a ... waiting to stab me in the back.

I'm doing Transcendental Meditation again. Turn everything off for 20 minutes twice a day. Turn off the TV, the cell phone and the computer(s). Sit in a comfortable chair and think about NOTHING.

Imagine you are standing over a small, 5 foot wide shallow creek. There are a few stones on the bottom of the creek. Clear water slowly flows through. Occasionally you see leaves floating on the surface of the creek. You don't focus on the leaves, you don't obsess on the leaves. You let your attention gently go back to a rock, on the bottom of the creek. Just let the leaves float by.

The creek is your "stream of consciousness", the stone at the bottom is your mantra and the leaves are the problems, issues, concerns and events in your life.

Transcendental Meditation became popular in the late 1960s when the Beatles went to India to learn it from the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. My family took the course in 1975 and did it faithfully for several months.

At that time, TM gave me peace in my soul. My senses were actually enhanced - colors seemed more vivid, smells came alive and I could hear the beauty in the songs of birds. More important, I learned to look at everyone I met as someone who could be a new friend, as opposed to a new threat. I had optimism and HOPE.

Like everyone else they have a web site! Visit www.tm.org. Read about TM and learn about the benefits.

The course is expensive, but there are rates for couples and people with economic hardships. In my opinion you WILL get your money back with dividends through peace and tranquility.

I have spent thousands of dollars and days looking for enlightenment. I didn't think enough of myself to spend 20 minutes twice a day to meditate.

There is HOPE in my life again, and IMHO that's priceless.
