Use twazzup.com for Twitter trends. Enter in the name of a favorite TV show or event and you can follow the trend in real time, with links to pictures, blogs and other sites. Take a picture with your phone, upload it on twitpic.com and wait a few seconds for it to show up in twazzup.com. Great resource for finding people to follow.
